The ministry’s data also show the aggregate production of Iran’s 71 cement plants in the 11th Iranian month of Bahman (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) was down 7.6% year-on-year to more than 3.44 million tons, IRNA reported. According to Cement Employers Association, the industry is currently operating at 75% of its production capacity due to market stagnation and loss of export markets. Industries Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said Iran exported 11.5 million tons of cement during the 11-month period. Iran is currently the world’s seventh largest cement producer, according to Financial Tribune.
EghtesadOnline: About 49.57 million tons of cement were produced in Iran in the last fiscal year (March 2016-17), indicating a 6.4% drop compared to the year before, the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade reported.
